Due to the natural aging of the eye, sometimes the skin around the eye area loses elasticity causing loose or sagging skin. On the upper eyelid, this excess skin can impair the function of the eyelid and diminish vision. In addition, there is a thin membrane in the upper and lower eyelids which holds the fatty tissue cushioning the eyeball. This membrane weakens with age and can cause the fat cells to push into the eyelids impairing vision.

Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure to remove skin and fatty tissue from the eyelids to regain visual function. Dr. Brad Stuckenschneider performs eyelid surgery in Poplar Bluff. Please call 573.686.5579 for more information.
