Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Assistant to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced medical office. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care while working in a state-of-the-art clinic setting. As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting the clinical aspects of our medical office. Responsibilities:
- Work up patients, including obtaining a CC, ROS, recording medical history, obtaining visual acuity, and refraction tests.
- Conduct pre-operative and post-operative instructions and care as needed.
- Provide patients with information about their condition and treatment options.
- Administer eye drops and assist with injections and lasers as directed by the physician.
- Handle patient records and maintain confidentiality.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all clinic policies and procedures.
- Travel to satellite offices.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience working as an Ophthalmic Assistant/ Technician.
- Experience working with an EMR system is an asset.
- Strong patient care skills and ability to provide compassionate care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
- Flexibility and willingness to perform other duties as needed.
- Positive, upbeat, and friendly.
- Reliable
- Familiarity with medical records and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
